I asked Lyn to give me and my leadership team a refresher on impactful speaking. She took time to understand our backgrounds and needs, so we came up with a bespoke plan involving a workshop and some 1-1 coaching. The workshop was a valuable mix of theory, tips and best practice sharing. The 1-1s allowed us to practise using real/live requirements. Terrifically useful to learn new things and see/address bad habits. It’s the sort of development we should invest time in more often!
Alex Price, Head of Insights and Analytics, Shell
Lyn brought a new perspective and energy which helped to bring life to the concept of story-telling. Working in small, supportive groups, the sessions identified and dismantled some of the barriers to successful story-telling and, through her personal experience and passion, Lyn left us with really useful ideas that we can continue to work on individually and as a group
Focus, University of Oxford
Lyn has amazingly skilful eyes and ears when it comes to delivering a speech. She has the sensitivity to what you don’t want to say and invites you to share your story. She has provided me a very supportive environment to express and find my words to talk about very complex situations. Can’t recommend her enough.
Kirti Daryanani, Trainer, Author, Professional Speaker
I recently had to deliver a very important speech to a diverse audience. I engaged Lyn to assist with my speech content and delivery. From the start, I knew I had made the right choice. Lyn’s advice was so precise, her attention to detail to make small tweaks gave my speech maximum impact; not only was I able to deliver this confidently, I really grabbed the moment and was actually waiting with excitement for my speech to begin! Through working with Lyn, I learned a lot about public speaking, skills which I know I’ll come back to again and again. If you have an important speech or presentation to deliver, I highly recommend Lyn as an inspiring and insightful coach.
Kamil Shah, Co-Founder at Olive Branch/The Greek Kitchen
Lyn delivered a "Building your confidence while speaking" workshop at Moody's. The details she shared, especially the PRO apPROach to building confidence, and the way she managed the entire session, were so inspiring and educational. The audience was engaged throughout and we received incredible feedback afterwards. I can highly recommend Lyn as a speaker for your next event.
Valerija Slavina, Enterprise Marketing Manager at Google
Lyn ran a series of masterclasses and workshops for us over the course of a few weeks – it felt like a real partnership working with her to ensure the sessions landed with maximum impact. Lyn took the time to understand our business and team, designed tailored sessions for varying levels of experience, and offered invaluable advice to answer the team’s many questions. The small practical workshops were the biggest success as they gave people space to put the theory into action and get in-the-moment feedback. It also really helped that she knew our industry and the challenges we come up against – I only wish we’d have had longer to benefit even more from Lyn’s significant experience in this area!
Laura Warby, Director, Crowd DNA
Lyn’s support in the lead up to TEDx Lewisham was invaluable. She helped me to craft a talk that flowed and connected with me and the audience. I also picked up her book (which I highly recommend) and will keep to hand as I build my speaking and keynote work.
If you get the chance to access her work in written form or in person, do check it out, especially if you’ve a message to share with the world.
Andy Coley, NLP Trainer
Lyn was an incredible coach to me as I developed my TEDx Talk. She provided excellent feedback and support in how to enrich the storytelling to make it as engaging as possible. She gave me confidence that my story could be told and helped shape the content. She is professional, very experienced and approachable – the perfect combination.
Dr Caroline Leek FRSA, Director of Fruit Fly Collective
Lyn is an incredibly insightful and supportive speaking coach.
I had the pleasure of working with her to deliver my first TEDx Talk - and she always provided powerful and actionable feedback to improve all aspects of the speech including delivery, structure, pace and tone - and ways to truly connect with the audience and powerfully take them on a journey.
It's been such a pleasure having use of her incredible skills and passion for public speaking and really learnt a lot from her, even as someone who is an experienced speaker.
I would highly recommend Lyn's services and really appreciate having had the opportunity to work with and learn from her through my TEDx journey. Thank you Lyn, you are amazing!
Yinka Ewuola, TEDx speaker
Lyn came to run a session on speaking with confidence at our WiRe Exec Summit 2021. She was amazing. Her style was warm, highly engaging and she had clearly listened to the needs of the Women around the table. Lyn clearly teaches from the heart and makes anyone feel totally comfortable in opening up with their challenges so that they can find their voice. I would highly recommend Lyn as a coach for a group or on a 1 to 1 basis.
Babita Earle, Zappi
I was delighted to host Lyn talking all things public speaking and helping our students to develop their 'elevator pitches'. Our MBA students loved her engaging style, tips and advice. It was a wonderful discussion, and a superb example of sharing ideas and stories in a safe space with peers and colleagues. Her workshops are a must for any university supporting student employability.
Joanna Pritchard, University of Bradford, Distance Learning MBA
When we wanted an external trainer to come in and provide bespoke online presentation skills to our remote workforce, we put our brief out to tender and Lyn provided a brilliant, perfectly positioned proposal which addressed all the needs we thought we had and made us think about the ones we hadn't even considered.
Her approach offered a mix of personable sessions with a smaller group of employees as well as a series of videos for the wider organisation which means that her support can be experienced by those in our business for the future.
Lyn has been a joy to work with, receiving incredible feedback from all those who attended and has already had a significant impact on the way our people present themselves both internally and externally. Could not recommend highly enough and look forward to working with her again in the future.
Katie Pepper, (formerly) Yorkshire Building Society
When I had a TEDx talk to prepare, I went straight to Lyn, who I knew had helped other speakers craft brilliant TED talks. She understands the TEDx format and helped me write my talk so it had the perfect structure to engage the audience, make my points with impact and deliver the message I wanted to get across. Lyn isn’t just a speaking coach, she helps create powerful talks, keynotes and speeches for all audiences and on all platforms. If you have a TEDx or other talk to write and deliver, I couldn’t recommend Lyn more highly
Lucy McCarraher, Founder of Rethink Press and Business Book Awards
I was recently privileged to be coached by Lyn Roseaman. Lyn has this amazing ability to instantly identify elements of a pitch/presentation that can be transformed into a convincing speech. The greatest lesson for me was to understand ‘to make it your own’
Rajdeep Chana, Business Development Manager at Lucid, LLC
Lyn is an excellent public speaking coach - personable, kind, clear and above all, first class at what she does. Lyn has coached me for several major speeches as part of my Presidency of the Chartered Institute of Housing; not only advising me on delivery but on content. I have learned so much from Lyn and I use it all the time
Aileen Evans, President, Chartered Institute of Housing
I have known Lyn for many years and can highly recommend her. She is an extremely talented professional and does her job with such vigour and enthusiasm. She has a sharp mind and is focused and dedicated to everything that she does. She has a great sense of fun and a brilliant sense of humour. She is an outstanding communicator and public speaker and has a proven track record in helping people to overcome their fears or lack of skills in public speaking. And if you are looking for a speaker at your event I promise you will not be disappointed.
Stephanie Durkan, SAP Logistics Consultant at Ctac Belgium
I attended Lyn's training in Public Speaking earlier this year, and wasn't sure initially how I was going to put it into practice in a business context. My opportunity came last week, when I had to galvanise a senior Board to take part in a brainstorming exercise and I had a 5-minute presentation slot to do this. I thought of what she taught us and took a risk. I used an image of Lewis Carroll's White Rabbit as my opening slide, and wove that into the narrative with a strapline of Be More White Rabbit. The Board certainly engaged in the exercise and seemed to enjoy it. Without having been inspired by Lyn and her training I would have reverted to bullet points and text, and hidden behind these. Taking a risk felt good, and so thank you Lyn for teaching me to be More White Rabbit! Sara.
Sara Passmore, Head of Focus Development at University of Oxford, Planning and Council Secretariat
I had the opportunity to attend Lyn's very inspiring and informative workshop on public speaking for the Institute of Internal Communication (IoIC). If you find yourself trying to get rid of those cold feet every time you need to talk in front of a crowd, then you needn't look further. You’ll find the perfect coach and mentor in Lyn who can arm you with the right skills to master your public speaking. Her bestseller 'Now You're Talking' is the perfect antidote for anyone looking to finally step out from their public speaking setbacks and step in to upskill their stage presence.
Binu Merin Jacob [CIIC, MCIPR], Member of the Institute of Internal Communication
Witty, focussed, consummate professional and an outstanding communicator & public speaker. Proven track record in developing Joe Public to public speakers and making the journey a memorable one for all the right reasons.
Scott Taylor, Dr HC, founding CEO of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau
I heard Lyn speak at the first ‘&Thrive’ networking event for women in the north. She gave great insight into how we introduce ourselves – often defining ourselves by our job titles. Instead, she encouraged us to think of our own elevator pitch. Rather than just say we’re an Internal Comms Manager, she encouraged us to focus on the people we work with and the solutions we provide for their challenges. It’s always the first thing I think of when I introduce myself to someone at networking events.
Sarah Whitehouse, Head of Client Development, Words&Pictures
Lyn is a fantastic public speaking coach. I can wholeheartedly recommend her. We have worked together on a number of speeches, all of which turned out to be a great success. Lyn exceeded my expectations: she would work flexibly with me (understanding my busy life of a working mother), she would get to know me and my goals, she would help to craft a speech that would be in line with my vocabulary (always aiming to sound natural), she would understand the needs of the audience. Some time ago, we worked on a speech project, which to me was a complete disaster - the subject wasn't a great hit plus time of the speech was difficult. Lyn magically managed to turn the whole thing around, she helped to change my attitude and helped to create something that left great memories for other people. I look forward to working with Lyn on more speech projects in future.
Kasia Gajda, Telstra
As CEO of a fast-growing, award-winning PR agency, my role increasingly involves panels, interviews, and industry discussions – tricky tasks for someone used to actively listening rather than talking.
Lyn gave fantastic support with these public speaking duties, helping me to connect quickly and easily with audiences and speak off the cuff, confidently handling tricky or unexpected questions.
She taught me to identify the key messages I want to get across, while ensuring they remain authentically mine, and also helped me talk about my own personal journey, articulating how diverse experiences have positively influenced my career path.
Victoria Usher, Founder and CEO at GingerMay
We engaged Lyn to speak to a (now very disparate) group of former students at a 35-year reunion. Prior to the event, she engaged superbly with individuals within the group, eliciting some wonderful snippets and anecdotes, and proceeded to put together an excellent after-dinner speech which was at the same time funny, intelligent and highly inclusive. She demonstrated many of the techniques she talks about on her courses; getting to know her audience was a very clear example. Highly recommended as an after-dinner speaker in her own right, and on the evidence of what she can deliver, a consummate professional in the field.
Graeme Ainslie, GFM Training Lead at Atos
Thank you for all of your help Lyn! My sessions with you helped me to structure my presentation and gave me a clearer view on what information to include in my presentation to ASOS and how to deliver it. I felt more confident going in to the pitch, where normally I am incredibly nervous and avoid presenting altogether! The feedback after my pitch was incredibly positive and has led to an amazing opportunity for me and my business. 😊
Jessica Deacon, Designer & Founder of CARBS
To put it simply, without exaggeration, Lyn is amazing. Lyn helped me develop my recent keynote speech to a level beyond that I thought possible. Through a mixture of advice, mentoring and feedback, Lyn helped me turn a good speech into a great speech. She helped me hone my message and enhance it with various techniques, from vocal variety through to the use of a simple prop. If you have a speech to give, talk to Lyn, she will help you take your message to the next level.
Rory Graves, Fieldmark Engineering Ltd
Lyn has a very warm and personable style and provided excellent feedback for each child who took part in the speech festival. She also provided some gems of wisdom for the parents who learnt from the various comments she made. Her passion for public speaking and encouraging others to do well has been apparent to me since I first met her. I am delighted that she is a part of the iVerbalize journey and that she was willing to give up her time to encourage children to overcome the potential fear of public speaking. I look forward to having her adjudicate at many of our upcoming events!
'Ronke Kokoruwe, iVerbalize
I would like to recommend an excellent Public Speaking Coach. I need to deliver an effective 15-minute speech to raise urgent funds for a local charity. I know that the more effective I can be, the more money I can raise. Up until now all my efforts have ended in a rushed, high pitched, out-of-control delivery. Lyn helped me construct my speech, so it was comfortable to actually say. She showed me, step by step, how to deliver it using movement, eye contact and intonation, and then evaluated my practice efforts. I now feel ready and confident and am actually looking forward to making the speech! I know this is going to make a huge difference, and fingers crossed it will show in the donations. I cannot recommend her enough.
Fiona Healy-Connelly, Chair, Age UK Westminster
Lyn is a wonderful blend of caring and firmness. If something's not good enough, she won't shy away from telling you and she'll keep on pushing you to your full potential in getting your message across.
Neil Coleman, Head of Visualisation, Prime Focus Technologies
To all speakers: Lyn is an incredible Mentor and has much wisdom to share. She helped me refine a speech I have recently given, moving it from Good to Great. I think it was her honesty and directness that I liked most. A rare find. Thank you Lyn!
Janet Tarasofsky, Courageous Conversations Expert
Lyn has been a major part of helping me share a 30-year journey. In fact, I don’t think I could have delivered this speech without her.
I initially presented Lyn with what might be described as a ‘brain dump’ of my life. Lyn worked painstakingly with me to identify the essence of my story so that my audience wold clearly see the wood from the trees. Lyn was constantly by my side, helping me craft my material and ensuring my delivery reinforced and brought my message to life. She worked with me every step along the way. This mattered because sharing my story was hard, emotionally challenging and, ultimately, cathartic, healing. Having Lyn readily available was an enormous support and comfort.
Today, I am inspiring people to speak out, to use their voice wherever they find injustice, cruelty, abuse. Thank you Lyn!
